Uzbekistan 2025 Nothing as described and paid for. I wrote an honest review as soon as we returned but Gatwick travels removed the reviews. They are very expensive and service is extremely poor! I travelled with Gatwick Travels to Uzbekistan in August 2025. While there were spiritual positives — particularly the wisdom and guidance of Sheikh Maulana Saleem and Mufti Salim — the overall experience left me disappointed due to the companies lack of organistion skills. Booking and communication were poor from the outset. We paid higher for a private double room, but on arrival were told we’d be sharing, which was never communicated beforehand and felt dishonest. Hotels were cramped, and whilst I appreciate the “compensation” offered, it did not make up for the stress especially after landing at 4am. The itinerary often changed with little notice, and site visits were rushed. Important places like Imam Bukhari’s grave and Bibi Khanum Masjid were either under construction or not properly visited. Despite raising concerns, nothing was improved, leaving the trip feeling unplanned and frustrating. It was advertised that we would visit but in reality we didn't. It makes me wonder where our money went as we didn't enter some sites. Also, the timings on the schedules kept changing so we couldn't plan anything in the very little personal time we were given and would sometimes be told with little notice. Food quickly became repetitive, and despite flagging my allergy on the 6th night, meals were not handled properly — at one point I fell ill, only to be taken back to the same restaurant. I had to awkwardly ask again for a different meal to be arranged where I ended up having dinner at 12am. What made matters worse was the leadership. Umair, who introduced himself as the leader, was completely unprofessional. He made dismissive remarks, and refrenced "bickering” when we were simply exhausted and hungry after a long journey back from Bukhara. He also told the group not to bother him at hotel receptions for keys because it was “annoying” — comments that were unnecessary, disrespectful, and set the wrong tone for a trip of this nature. On top of that, there was constant confusion over leadership, with Shayaan often stepping in without any clear communication. We were also told swimming will be organised seperately for male and females and at all 3 hotels, this did not happen. I carried my swim wear for no reason. We were not given time in advance to explore ourselves not any tips given they had travel to Uzbekistan before. I also asked about horse riding but nothing was communicated back to me. The trip felt incomplete without doing an activity. It was also upsetting to see that Umair said he had organised porters to help with our luggages. There were over 30 luggages for sure, only to see that Umair had only organised the porter for his lugagges. Although I am grateful to the scholars for their spiritual guidance, and to Shayaan for helping where he could, the trip overall wasn't worth what we had paid, poorly managed, and far below expectations. I would not travel with Gatwick Travels again, largely due to the unprofessionalism and poor conduct of Umair. Not only do I feel like I wasted my money but time too.

We recently returned from our Umrah and it has been one of the most memorable trips, thanks to Shayyan and his prompt services. He was always available to answer any queries and made sure to deliver what he promised. Alhamdulillah, we had a fantastic experience arranging our hotels and transport for Umrah travel. Brother Shayaan Mulla was always available to help and support us at every stage, before travel, during the journey, and throughout our time in Makkah and Madinah. He was true to his word and delivered everything that was agreed upon. The transport service between the holy cities and airport transfers was efficient, and the drivers were friendly, professional and very helpful throughout. We cannot recommend Shayaan from Gatwick Travel highly enough after he organised our Umrah trip. From the first request to the final day, his service was phenomenal. He tailored every detail to our group — 3 elderly parents and 4 children — and made sure everyone was fully accommodated and comfortable. Flights, accommodation, land transfers, and ziyarats were all seamless. He listened, adjusted plans when we needed, and sorted issues before they could even become problems. Shayaan was available 24/7 to assist and nothing was too much trouble. We had absolutely zero hiccups or problems at any point in our journey. On top of that, the prices he secured were the best we were quoted anywhere.
